Why We Love Math

MATH IS THE BEST!  You can become many things with the help of math.  Math can help you get good jobs.  Math is very challenging because there are many different topics and each can involve other topics you have or haven’t  learned.  Each topic is unique in many different ways, and yet they are all linked together in some way.

Hi, I’m Jake and my favorite part about math is geometry, Khan Academy and challenge problems.  I likes geometry because it’s my favorite type of math and i’m very good at it.  Khan Academy is a math and programming website.  It really helps you with tough subjects like surface area, multiplying fractions and ratios from proportions.  I like Khan Academy because it helps me with math and it’s fun.  I like the challenge problems like one time we did a challenge problem where we had to find out how many trees there were and there were like 2,000.  I like the problem because it really challenged me and my group to work together.  Also you can be helped with things that you don’t know and that others do know about.  It really helps you work on your social skills and so that you are ready for years to come in math.

Hi, I’m Josh, and my favorite part of math was Sum dog and Khan Academy. These were the challenging things that made our brains work harder than the ever worked before. Sum dog is a fun game where you feel like you’re playing a game but you really are learning. One of the games that are really fun is Endangered. It is when you have to save animals by answering different math questions. Khan Academy is a game where you learn all sorts of things besides math. For math you can create your own portfolio and this teaches you things that may or may not be in the textbook so you get to know more stuff than your teacher expects you to. One of the exercises for Khan Academy is perimeter and area. Maybe you can have a master challenge where if you know something really well you will be challenged on it.  For the things that are really confusing we don’t just go on to the next step, we get some extra time to understand it a bit more. For the things that we already know we do challenge problems with it and it becomes harder. 

This is why we love math in so many ways and we can’t wait until we learn so much more fascinating stuff.
